Outside the Lab 🤽‍♀️

🎾 These days I am learning tennis. On weekends I play women’s doubles for my community team in the USTA Adult League.

🤽‍♀️ I played water polo in college and served as president of our water polo club for three years. Here’s a photo of me scoring a goal: ([1]).

🧩 In high school, I represented China at the International Linguistics Olympiad in Bulgaria (2015, Honorable Mention) and India (2016, Bronze Medal). If you have never seen an IOL problem, try the sample problems. If you are an ambitious linguist in disguise, try the 2015 or 2016 sets. It’s really fun!

🗣️ I am a perpetual beginner in Japanese and Korean, thanks to anime and K-dramas. My Spanish was once fairly advanced after attending the Middlebury Language Schools immersion program (highly recommend!), but it has gone rusty since.

🍞 When not doing any of the above, I cook, bake, and read.

🩺 Self-Physical Therapy: Empowering Recovery
